Scheuren Congratulates Fire and EMS Grant Recipients

HARRISBURG - Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) today congratulated several fire and emergency medical services (EMS) grant recipients of the 147th Legislative District. Funding granted will support emergency response’s ability to provide medical support and emergency relief.
“Our emergency response teams work around the clock to provide life-saving support to our communities and these grants will go a long way to help sustain them while they deliver vital services to us,” Scheuren said. “Each recipient of the fire and EMS grants are well deserved. I look forward to continuing to support them and what they do.”
The following fire and EMS companies have been awarded grants:
• Gilbertsville Area Community Ambulance Service - $10,000.
• Gilbertsville Fire and Rescue Co. - $15,000.
• Harleysville Area Emergency Medical Service Inc. - $10,000.
• Harleysville Community Fire Co. - $15,000.
• Lower Frederick Fire Co. - $28,273.
• New Hanover Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services - $28,273.
• Souderton Community Ambulance Association Inc. - $10,000.
• Plymouth Community Ambulance Association - $10,000.
• Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Co. - $14,527.
• Upper Frederick Fire Co. - $15,000.
• Upper Pottsgrove Township Fire Co. No. 1 - $15,000.
• Perseverance Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 - $15,000.
All Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program (FCEMSGP) funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue. Funding is granted for eligible projects including facilities, equipment, debt reduction, training, education, recruitment and retention, and several additional projects. The funding amounts are contingent on the recipients filing their grant agreements with Office of State Fire Commissioner.
